SOON WILL BE THE DAY....

...That you will go to getupedina.com. That's right. I've decided to buy actual webspace. I'm sick of how limiting Tripod is and even more sick of those retarded pop up ads!! As of right now, I'm pretty much doing a crash course on web design and web design software. Aren't you envious? I know I would be. Hopefully, things will look beautiful on the new and improved Get Up Edina, and it might actually be a "legit" site, as you kids say. I figure, since I'm  not musically talented, and no one wants a DJ in Arizona that spins old Jamaican music, this is the best way I can contribute to help keep the scene alive. I still don't feel like its enough.

Next on the agenda, if you haven't heard, I've started making BARWARE! That's right, destroy your liver in style! In CHIC style! All of these will be handmade by yours truely in hopes to earn a little extra dough so I don't have to live off of saltines, cheese, and oatmeal. Yummy yum yum! Shirts are still in the works. After a hellish trip to Michael's, I managed to get some half-assed supplies that I needed for these for an obscene amount of money. So, as of now, I'm boycotting Michael's and their shitty service and being out of EVERYTHING EVER!!!! These products will appear as soon as I get Get Up Edina V2.0 up.

So, there may be very few updates over the next month or so. If you haven't already noticed, they've been lacking lately due to the fact that I've been looking for a good server and dealing with me being retarded when it comes to webdesign. Please, bear with me! I'm doing one last update on this tripod page, mostly in the fashion page so I don't forget to transfer it over to a new server.

On the new Get Up Edina, I hope to have a more active message board, more interactive features, a shop, places where readers can input their thoughts (especially on record reviews!), and most of all, A nice looking, easier to navigate webpage that people will actually visit (ha!!)

See you on the new page!

FEATURED BAND

INTENSIFIED

For November's featured band, I give you, INTENSIFIED. One of the greatest examples of how great ska is in Europe! It does make sense, look at the history of the musical relation between Jamaica and (especially) England...you know what I'm talking about! Last month as I was thinking about a band to feature, Steve Harrington (founding memeber) emailed me, as I was actually listening to Intensified. Coincidence? No. I had to do it. This group is very well-rounded and mature in my opinion. Any band that has been around so long and so strong definitely deserves to be featured! Go check them out and listen to their tracks on their site, www.intensified.net!
